Eric Le Goff , president of Abilis Solutions and Andre Bisson, industrial partnerships coordinator of the École de Technologie Supérieure’s (ETS) Development Fund, have laid out the groundwork for a multi-faceted partnership for the benefit of students in computer engineering.

Abilis desired to establish a strong relationship with the academic world for a long time. After studying the situation, we decided to partner with the ETS, which shares our passion for raising the bar for new technology, innovation and research,” said Eric Le Goff.

Abilis Solutions has previously given lectures in prestigious schools, but this is the first time that the company involves itself so significantly with an institution of higher education.

Abilis Solutions decided to support the students of the ÉTS by allocating a scholarship and an award of excellence of $3,000 and $2,000, respectively. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of their motivation and their creativity as demonstrated by their science projects in the fields of information technology engineering, software engineering and engineering operations and logistics.

Successful recipients will be chosen in January from amongst the submissions received. The winners will receive their scholarship or prize in March 2010.

In addition to these two philanthropic endeavors, Abilis is looking to get even more involved, especially on a pedagogical level.  Abilis Solutions’ employees and managers wish to share their expertise in team management, innovation management and business model development, either during faculty class courses or during conferences organized specifically at the request of the company. Abilis Solutions will participate in a School Career Day, held on November the 11^th in order to represent the company and meet graduating students.

This new partnership should have many positive consequences for both Abilis Solutions and ÉTS students.

ÉTS produces more graduates in computer engineering than any other institution in Canada. Among its other specialties, it also offers courses in mechanical engineering, aerospace, electrical engineering and construction.
