Abilis’s CORIS system receives nomination for “Best enterprise solution” at the Channel Elite Awards 2009!

CORIS, an OMS (Offender Management System) developed by Abilis, has been nominated for an award at the final of the Channel Elite Awards 2009, an event organized by CDN, Canada’s foremost IT channel publication (http://itbusiness.ca/cea/index.html ).

CORIS is an integrated system enabling management of a complete range of criminal offenders’ penitentiary activities, beginning with the calculation of sentences and release conditions, and managing also offenders in all aspects of their routine as they serve time within prison facilities or report to probation and parole officers.

The software is a proven platform that has been implemented and works efficiently in three States of the United States already: the State of Maine, the State of New Hampshire and the Commonwealth of Virginia. CORIS’s nomination for “Best Enterprise Solution” category was due specifically to the most recent of these three major implementations, the Virginia CORIS deployment.

The solutions engineered by the various participants will be judged by a panel of experts who will present awards to the top three finalists. The names of the winners will be announced on September 29th during the evening gala given at the Paramount Event and Conference Centre in Ontario.
