Abilis Solutions Recognized as one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers (2017)

Montreal, April 25, 2017 – Abilis Solutions is proud to announce that it has been named as one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers for 2017.
This award comes at an exciting time for Abilis, which is experiencing considerable growth, driven primarily through its success in the global corrections market. Its offender management solutions have been selected in multiple US and interational jurisdictions over the last 16 months, thus driving demand for a range of new hires for the company. The employee base has grown substantially over the last year, with some 200 employees in Quebec and Maine, and the company uses a formula that has proven to be quite successful in attracting and retaining new hires: effective onboarding programs, flexible hours, training programs, biweekly company-wide updates and regular team-building events.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers” said Eric Le Goff, co-founder, President and CEO of Abilis Solutions. “This is a great acknowledgement of our efforts. We are committed to hiring and retaining talented, energetic and dedicated people from a variety of backgrounds, as we consider that having a diverse workforce is at the core of what makes us open to new ideas and innovation.”

“We continue to invest in developing our employees so that they can reach their full potential,” said Alain Elbaz, co-founder, President and COO. “We have also worked hard to shape a supportive and flexible culture, and believe that this contributes to the growth of our company.”

Several years ago, in anticipation of key changes to the global corrections market, Abilis began a transition from a pure services organization to become a product-centric company. The organizational change management approach which Abilis adopted in this process has been instrumental in the company’s successful transition, and will help to ensure that the company remains positioned to continue its growth.

About Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers:
Now in its 4th year, Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation’s best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies. Employers are evaluated by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same criteria as the national competition: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. To determine eligibility, the Top 100 editors follow the SME definition used by Statistics Canada, limiting the competition to private-sector companies with under 500 employees worldwide.
