New Mexico Corrections Department selects Abilis Solutions to modernize offender management system

Award is third consecutive win for CORIS® OMS product

Montreal, May 22, 2017 – Abilis Solutions is proud to announce that it has been selected to modernize the offender management solution (OMS) for New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD). This award comes after an open, competitive bid process that commenced in the summer of 2016.

The new solution will feature CORIS® OMS, a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product which is purpose-built for prison operations and is based on the defined business process standards of the Corrections Technology Association. The secure, highly-scalable solution will deliver greater efficiency for more than 1,500 corrections officers and staff, and provide best-in-class reporting and analytics to enable improved understanding of operational performance. CORIS® will be used in 11 facilities across New Mexico and will manage the records of 7,300 incarcerated offenders and 18,000 persons on probation and parole.

The project spans all operations across the Adult Prison Division and Probation and Parole Division for NMCD. It is slated to commence in July and is expected to be completed in just 24 months, the fastest time to value approach available for a project of such complexity.

“It is a great honor to have the chance to work with NMCD to modernize their offender management system,” said Eric Le Goff, President and CEO of Abilis Solutions. “Their planning process for this strategic initiative has been exemplary, a fact that bodes well for an effective implementation and roll-out. We look forward to working closely with agency leadership and the project team to bring the new system online in less than two years.”

“This is our third OMS project award in less than 18 months,” said Ken McGovern, Vice President, Business Development for Abilis. “This pace reflects the growing realization within corrections agencies globally that state-of-the-art information management systems are essential to address their most pressing challenges – namely, understanding the offender more completely, enabling greater operational efficiency, and providing greater insights into offender outcomes and operational performance. We believe our commitment to delivering an evergreen solution based on deep domain expertise and defined corrections business process standards will be a critical success factor for our customers’ efforts to run better agencies.”

By the time the project is complete in New Mexico, CORIS® will be in used globally by more than 27,500 corrections professionals in 324 secure facilities and community corrections offices to manage over 250,000 offenders. In addition to the NMCD project, teams from Abilis Solutions are fully engaged in OMS projects with Tennessee Department of Correction and Australian Capital Territory Corrective Services.
